Friday February 8th: Oprah Winfrey Show:
Sperm Donation Featured on Friday’s “Oprah” . From the “Oprah” folks:
“They are siblings; they share a father; and they’ve never met. For an estimated 30,000 children every year who are born through sperm donations, many will grow up struggling with the fact that half their genes are a mystery to them. Two sperm donors, one involved with his children and one who does not know them, share their perspectives on how they define fatherhood. A brother and sister who share the same sperm donor father meet each other for the first time. Plus, adult children of donors weigh in on the questions that may never be answered. We are very excited about the airing of this show, as it will most likely bring some traffic to the DSR so that more members will be able to connect with donor half siblings and donors with offspring. Two of the three donors and their matches that are featured on the show are from the DSR, as well as several of the adult donor conceived profiled. There is an amazing tape of Stacy and Chris (two half-siblings) meeting which left not a dry eye at the taping yesterday.
