In their official statement posted to the platform, Seattle Sperm Bank cited a few specific reasons behind the decision: Evolving Data Privacy Laws: They said navigating complex, shifting global privacy requirements (such as GDPR in Europe) made maintaining an in-house communication platform difficult. (The DSR is GDPR compliant). Resource Reallocation: The sperm bank stated they want to retire the forum to focus their internal staff and technological resources entirely on core clinical operations. (Profit) Security Standards: They noted that protecting the sensitive personal data shared on their site was no longer viable under their existing infrastructure. (The DSR spends a lot of time and money to ensure that our site is secure.)
