June 2021: Louisville Courier-Journal Inseminated by doctor who used his sperm, woman says conduct 'unconscionable and depraved'. LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Erin Crowder says her parents told her when she turned 18 her father had fertility problems and she was born after her mother was inseminated with sperm from an anonymous donor. But Crowder, now 45, said it was only when she underwent a genetic test from Ancestry.com two years ago that she discovered the identity of her biological father. Of all people, he was her mother’s Louisville fertility doctor, Dr. Marvin Yussman. She learned as well she had at least seven half-siblings, all fathered by Yussman, who used his own sperm to inseminate patients. Her mother, Susan Crowder, 73, formerly of Hopkinsville, said she was livid when she learned about she calls Yussman’s “unconscionable and depraved” conduct, which has come to be known as fertility fraud.
