I am a single mother with a 3 1/2 yr old son that I was so fortunate enough to conceive through a sperm donor. Going through this process and having my son is the best thing I have ever done. He was conceived over Fathers Day weekend in 2007, he was born in March 2008 and is named after his grandfather and great-grandfather. The magical story behind my son Alex is that I truly believe he is connected to my great-grandfather. In addition to the information already noted, he often makes comments about how he used to fish w/ his great-grandfather, who by the way love fish all the time and was also deceased long before Alex was conceived), as well as Alex often speaks his great-grandfathers last name, which we never have told him it before. Had it not been for donor 5409, my life and my dream of being a biological mother may have never come true. Alex is my best friend, my wish come true, and my everything. The experience was and continues to be magical and inspiring. As much as I don't want him to grow up too fast, I cannot wait to see him experience life and make an impression in this world.
